How to use the Stokke Tripp Trapp at a kitchen island

The baby is about to arrive and you're all set: the crib is ready, the nursery is decorated and you've bought a Stokke Tripp Trapp chair with the newborn set and all the other matching accessories. You'd love to use the Tripp Trapp at your kitchen island, but it's too low. With the BoosterMe, you can use your Stokke chair at your kitchen island, high table or bar.

Can you use the Tripp Trapp chair at a kitchen island?

You can use the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair at a kitchen island, but you'll need the BoosterMe to do so. The BoosterMe is a "booster seat" designed specifically for the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. It's easy to assemble, easy to use and safe. Once the chair is secured, the chair won't move and your child or baby can sit safely with you at the kitchen counter.

Booster chair for the Tripp Trapp

We ran into this problem: we had a beautiful, new kitchen installed with all the trimmings, kitchen island and all, but found out that our Stokke chair couldn't be used in this setting. The chair is so low that your child looks up to the kitchen island instead of over it.

And the kitchen island was chosen precisely because it makes cooking more social. After all, it's a lot cozier if you can see into the room, instead of standing with your back to everyone, or in an enclosed space. Your partner and older kids can sit at the kitchen counter with their homework or just help cook, and smaller kids can draw or play at the bar while you're busy. Meanwhile, you can keep a nice eye on them. But then the chair should fit the countertop well, at the right height.

High chair for the kitchen island

We got to work ourselves and wanted to make a riser where you could easily raise the high chair to the right height, but of course in a safe way. So initially we made a prototype for a booster seat made of wood that we could use in our own home, for our own Trip Trap.

Friends of ours saw this, and thought it was a very good idea. So we decided to develop the product further and bring it to market so that everyone could raise their Stokke Tripp Trapp chair. We wish everyone could also use the high chair at the kitchen island. That way they can all be able to sit there together again, like they were actually meant to. This was the beginning of the BoosterMe.

We wanted it to be as easy as possible to assemble the BoosterMe yourself, so we developed the product so that anyone can do it - even if you have two left hands. There are no difficult tools involved in assembly, not even a screwdriver. All you need is an Allen key. This comes standard with your BoosterMe order, so you don't have to worry if you don't already have it or can't find it for a while. This is also what sets the BoosterMe apart from other products - find another Tripp Trapp booster chair that you can assemble so easily!

Chair booster for Stokke Tripp Trapp

Wooden chair with booster seat for children

Initially, we developed a wooden version, made of birch plywood, of the BoosterMe booster seat that fits well with a wooden high chair. A beautiful and durable material that fits into any interior and can be painted another color if necessary. Moreover, it is a robust material that, as long as you take good care of it, can last a lifetime.

We have also expanded the wooden version with a black and white version, so you can match your Stokke Tripp Trapp chair with the BoosterMe. Eventually we hope to launch even more colors and products.

Keep an eye on our site for more colors or order your BoosterMe today.
